What is Organic?

Organic refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. Organic foods are minimally processed without artificial ingredients or preservatives to maintain the integrity of the food.

What does "Certified Organic" mean?

"Certified Organic" means the product has been grown according to strict USDA standards that are verified by independent state or private organizations. Certification includes inspections of farm fields and processing facilities, detailed record keeping, and periodic testing of soil to ensure that growers and handlers are meeting the standards which have been set.

What "Certified Organic" means to us?

Organic farming practices, processing and certification means dedication to crops harvested this year as well as preserving the soil for future crops. Dedication to making healthier food and making sure the consumer knows everyone is working together to provide better food handling processes and promote a more sustainable way of farming and life.

Why eat rice?

There are many health advantages and benefits to eating rice. Rice is a great source of energy , carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, making it an excellent food to include in a balanced diet. Whole grains (such as brown rice) contain high amounts of insoluble fiber-the type of fiber some scientists believe may help protect against a variety of cancers. People in other cultures eat rice virtually every day and rice -- especially the brown and only partially "polished" varieties -- contains a natural compound that appears to guard against high blood pressure and heart disease. Rice is also proven to be one of the Gluten free foods that can be consumed by people with Celiac Disease. So for energy and health, rice just seems to be a healthy choice.
